Tucked away in the Design District of downtown Calgary, Bridgette Bar is one of the original Concorde giants. Honestly, this restaurant was one of my original inspirations for going to design school because the atmosphere is so beautiful. My first visit was for Brett Kissel's, Long Shot Wine sponsorship during Stampede where I tried the most delicious crab cakes and stuffed mushroom. Since this taste bud opening experience, it's become one of my favourite spots for quality cocktails, food and atmosphere. The Maple Bbq Trout with creamed kale and smoked potato pure is just out of this world incredible. I think for my first 5 visits I ate this exclusively. The Hunter Chicken is a go to in the fall with the dill gravy, and on the topic of dill… their oysters come out with this magical dill pickle gratin, to die for. Finish it off with the famous banana pie, this would be another perfect meal. If you're looking for a consistently great place to take a date, friends + family visiting from out of town, or your a tourist wanting to find a true gem in Calgary, this is the place. Oh and they have a banging happy hour with 1/2 priced beverages. Thank me later ;)
